The Ville Platte Chief of Police Neal Lartigue released a statement on Monday concerning the recovery of a recently stolen vehicle.
Lartigue stated, “On June 23, 2017 at approximately 10:30 p.m. Officers with the Ville Platte Police Department responded to a report of a stolen vehicle on Jean Vidrine Road.”
According to the chief’s release, the vehicle stolen was a silver Ford Expedition, which “was located the next morning outside of the city limits” of Ville Platte.
The VPPD was notified by the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Saturday morning that the vehicle had been located.
According to the chief, the vehicle was found “abandoned in a field off of St. John Road.”
No arrests have been made in connection with this crime, and the matter currently remains under investigation.
