The Mamou Police Department has zero tolerance for domestic abuse within their town limits.
They have proved that with two recent arrest their officers made of individuals committing that crime.
The first arrested recently for domestic abuse was Corwin Smith.
According to the MPD, Smith and his girlfriend got into an argument on February 5, 2017, which ended up getting physical.
They also stated, Smith “held his girlfriend down on the ground and prevented her from leaving the house they were at.”
Smith then proceeded to throw his girlfriend through the window, which according to the MPD, is “how the female got away.”
The girlfriend then ran to the police department to report the incident.
Officers arrested Smith that same day, and charged him with domestic abuse, false imprisonment and second degree battery.
Their second arrest occured on February 6, after the MPD responded to a call in reference to domestic abuse.
The subject August Castille fled the scene however before officers arrived.
Authorities were able to locate and apprehend Castille the following day.
Castille was charged with domestic abuse battery.
