Flea Fly Football Registration
to be held Oct. 10-11
The Ville Platte Lions Club will be holding Flea Fly Football registration for kindergarten and first grade boys and girls under seven years old on Monday, October 10th, and Tuesday, October 11, 2016, from 5:30-7:00 p.m. at the Lions Club Den located on Progress Rd., in the Demonchervaux Subdivision. Equipment and pants will be distributed at registration, so bring your child to registration. Donation is $45. The game will be held on Sunday, October 30th. Pine Prairie High School
holding Open House on Oct. 18
Pine Prairie High School invites parents, students, friends and community leaders to attend an Open House on October 18, 2016 from 5 to 7 p.m. Report cards will be issued to parents that attend Open House. All visitors are invited to attend the Book Fair in the library. Jostens will also have a ring display in the auditorium from 3 to 7 p.m. for any junior interested in ordering their senior ring.

Ville Platte High School
holding Open House on Oct. 20
Ville Platte High School will host an Open House on Thursday, October 20, 2016 for the parents of the students in grades 5-12. There will be a general assembly in the auditorium at 5:30 p.m. followed by a time for parents to meet teachers and pick up report cards. Parents who cannot attend Thursday night’s meeting can make arrangements to receive the information by contacting Ville Platte High. Please run this announcement until Thursday, Oct. 20, 2016.

Silver Eagles meeting
held weekly
The Silver Eagles senior social for individuals 50 years and older meet every Tuesday at the Pine Prairie Community Center at 10:00 a.m. Activities include bingo, lunch and socializing all for $4.00. We encourage all to come and have fun. Please bring your friends too.

Gazette News Brief Policy told
Due to the number of News Briefs and the limited space in The Gazette, all briefs will run as space permits. All briefs will be guaranteed one run, and after that, as space permits. All briefs must be turned in by noon on Tuesday for consideration in Thursday’s paper and by noon on Thursday for consideration in Sunday’s paper.
