Evangeline Parish’s director of the Community Action Agency Carlene Bellard has been named as one of three finalists for Acadiana Hero in the month of June.
The contest is sponsored by KLFY and Giles Automotive. According to a statement from KLFY, “One deserving person or non-profit organization will be awarded $3,000.00 from Giles Automotive for their hard work and for giving of themselves to the community. The deserving person or organization that is selected by the community each month will be announced on KLFY TV10 at the end of each month.”
“Finalists will be chosen monthly from nominations submitted to Giles Automotive and KLFY TV10,” continued the statement. “Finalists to be selected will be based on what that person or organization has done for others in our community to make Acadiana a better place to live and work.”
Bellard could earn $3,000 for her community if she receives the most votes.
Finalists in the contest will be posted each month online at acadianahero.com. From there people can vote on the site for whom they believe is most deserving of being called Acadiana’s Hero.
