VPPD arrest two armed robbery suspects; search continues for others involved

The Ville Platte Police have arrested two individuals in connection to a shooting and armed robbery that occurred on March 19, 2017.
According to a VPPD press release, at the time of the incident “officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of East Jackson Street.”
Upon arrival at the scene, “officers found a black male had been shot in the leg,” who was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Rapides Medical Center for Treatment.
After further investigation by detectives, Darious A. Arvie, 23, of Te Mamou Rd., was arrested and charged with principal to attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and principal to armed robbery. Arvie was booked into the city jail on a $140,000.00 bond set by Judge Gary Ortego.
The other individual arrested was Roderic D. Thomas, 25, of 1310 Peach St., who has been charged with principal to attempted second degree murder, aggravated assault with a firearm and principal to armed robbery. His bond was set at $140,000.00 by Ortego.
Police are still in search of two other suspects. If anyone knows the whereabouts of Trevor L. Ardoin, 25, and Geraldo O. Nelson, 28, the VPPD ask that you call their department at (337) 363-1313. Callers will remain anonymous.
