The Ville Platte Police Department arrested Tieberrious D. Wilson on April 25, 2017 after the 19-year-old became a suspect in a fatal shooting that recently occurred in Ville Platte on Sunday.
According to a VPPD press release, at around 8:30 p.m. on April 23, 2017 officers “responded to a report of a female with injuries laying on the ground at the intersection of North Chataignier and East Jackson Streets in Ville Platte.”
The release went on to say that “upon arrival officers found the victim suffering from what appeared to be a gunshot wound.”
The female was transported by Acadian Ambulance to Mercy Regional Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
Wilson was booked in the city jail on charges of second degree murder, attempted second degree murder, aggravated criminal damage to property, illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrument and carrying of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Since his arrest, Wilson has been transported to the parish jail. He remains incarcerated on a $1,425,000.00 bond that was set by Judge Chuck West.
In a release from the VPPD, Chief Neal Lartigue stated that he “would like to remind citizens that this investigation remains active,” and he “requests anyone with any information to please contact the Ville Platte Police Department at 363-1313.” Your call will remain anonymous.
