On Tuesday, Sheriff Eddie Soileau released the following statement in regard to a Ville Platte Police Department vehicle pursuit that occurred on Monday, April 17, 2017.
The release stated the following:
“On 4-17-2017, at 4:51 P.M., the Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Office received a call from the Ville Platte Police Dept. advising they were in pursuit of a white Chevrolet pickup, north bound on Chicot Rd. Deputies responded Joining the pursuit on Foreman Rd. in the Bayou Chicot area. The Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Office then assumed control of the pursuit. Deputies pursued the vehicle into St. Landry and Avoyelles parishes on Hwy. 115, before the vehicle turned and reentered Evangeline Parish. The vehicle came to a stop on Bayou Torreau Rd. due to a crash. The driver and passenger exited the vehicle and continued to flee on foot. The driver, a white male subject, approximately mid-20’s. crossed a waterway and disappeared into a wooded area. The passenger, a white female, was able to make it into a wooded area before disappearing. A perimeter was set up in the immediate area, but deputies were unable to locate the subjects due to the terrain. The incident remains under investigation.
Investigators are currently seeking Ashley Denise Lamb, White/Female, DOB 7-28-1991. If you have any information regarding this subject or the unidentified male subject, please contact the Evangeline Parish Sheriffs Office Criminal Investigation Division or Ville Platte Police Dept.
