In one of the best performances on the mound in Sacred Heart baseball history, Conner Fontenot struck out 15 in a 5-1 win over Grant High School this past Friday at the Oak Hill tournament.
Fontenot was dominant the entire game allowing only a single run in the first inning and a total of three hits for the entire game. The Trojans moved to 2-1 on the young season with the win.
Sacred Heart took the lead in the third inning, plating two runs. The Trojans added two more in the fourth inning and capped the game off with a single run in the sixth. Fontenot also led the way at the plate along with Nick Perry, as both went 2-3 in the game.
Sacred Heart followed that victory up with another as the Trojans posted a 6-1 win over the Panthers of Bunkie High on Tuesday.
Sacred Heart is now 3-1 on the season and next plays at Breaux Bridge on Tuesday, March 7th.
