LSN Report
LAFAYETTE – On Thursday, December 1, One Acadiana (1A) and Lafayette Regional Airport (LRA) representatives will gather to deliver a progress report on Lafayette Regional Airport’s new terminal plans.
After Lafayette voters overwhelmingly approved a temporary sales tax to fund a new LFT Terminal, the parish-wide tax ended on November 30, 2015, and the Lafayette Regional Airport collected approximately $30 million to help pay for a new $90 million commercial terminal at Lafayette Regional Airport. Now, a year after the tax collection milestone, regional partners will gather to provide a community update on this important transportation infrastructure project.
The status report will include:
An update on progress and the planned timetable
Results of the economic impact of Lafayette Regional Airport from a study just released by DOTD
Information about the companies chosen for two of the three prime contracts that will be awarded to manage, design and build the airport terminal project, and plans for selection of the third (construction)
Results of a customer satisfaction survey on current operations
Information on the process to solicit public input on new design.
