Evangeline Parish Registrar of Voters Lucas Buller wants residents to know about the convienence of the using the state’s geauxvote.com website.
The deadline to register to vote in the November 8, 2016 election is Tuesday, October 11, 2016. With the registrar’s office hours being only from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., that means more than a few working professionals may not be able to get to the office in time to register.
That’s why the state’s website is so helpful.
“It is the most convenient and efficient way is to register online for all parties,” Buller said. “It allows them the convenience from their home outside of business hours.
“I can accept registrations until 11:59:59 p.m. on Tuesday. If you try to do it in person I close my doors at 4:30. This gives the people more time to register.”
Buller says that those voters who need to register to vote or to make any changes can do so by visiting the website geauxvote.com, by using Internet Explorer, or by stop by the office in person from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday this week.
