The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office on Wednesday released an update on the investigations of the fatal shooting that left Clifton Hallmark of Shreveport dead in Turkey Creek on July 1, 2016.
The Case Detective Sergeant Allen James has been working diligently with Louisiana State Police, United States Marshals, the Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms Agency, and the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office in an effort to quickly solve this case.
The press release states that as of today, eight of the 10 individuals that were originally wanted are in custody. Seven of those eight are being housed with bond at one of the many correctional facilities in the state.
Jeremy Jordon, who is one of the eight individuals that were originally wanted in connection with this crime, is currently being detained in the State of Texas on a federal probation warrant. The sheriff’s office is awaiting his release to be transported back to Louisiana.
On Friday, July 22, 2016, Brian Granger was transported from Kaufman County out of Texas, and booked into the EPSO jail and charged with accessory after the fact (second degree murder).
A vehicle that was at the scene of the crime has been released by the Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office and escorted to Louisiana deputies for processing at the Louisiana State Crime Lab.
The EPSO is still actively seeking the capture of 46-year-old Richard Smith and 42-year-old Leland Hamm, both of which are white males.
Smith, who is originally from Arkansas, and Hamm, who is originally from Kansas, were both residing in the Turkey Creek prior to the incident.
