LAFAYETTE — On Thursday, June 23rd, 2016, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Acadiana (BBBS) will host its 6th Annual Bacchanalian at Jefferson Street Pub from 6pm to 9pm. Major Handy will be preforming at the event and food will be provided by Jefferson Street Pub. The event will be a focused on raising money in order to continue successfully matching children in our community facing adversity (Little) with a caring adult mentor (Big).
With almost 80 children waiting to be matched, BBBS hopes that this fundraiser will once again raise awareness and funds to support the program.
The Bacchanalian will be comprised of teams consisting of one to three participants at a cost of $75 per person or $225 per team. The teams are admitted into Jefferson Street Pub by presenting three bottles of the same varietal upon arrival. Two of the three bottles brought to the event will be bagged, covering the label, and then tagged with a number.
Each participant will then taste each wine and rank them according to preference. The team that has the highest ranked wine will be the winner of every team’s third, unopened, bottle of wine that they provided. The loser will have the satisfaction of helping out children of Acadiana and will be taking their own third bottle of wine home.
