71-year old threatens family member with AK47, threatens Basil Mayor

According to an Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office press release, an arrest was made of 71-year old Robert R. Guillory Sr. after he threatened a family member with an AK47, and then later threatened Basile Mayor Mark Denette.
The family member that was threatened by Guillory with the AK47 on April 30, 2016, but the incident was not reported to the sheriff’s office until days later when the family member learned that a complaint had been to Basile Police Department about Guillory threatening Basile’s mayor.
The press release stated that on May 3, 2016 the threatened “family member, being of concern, reported to the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division to file a report of the incident after Basile Police Department received a complaint that Guillory allegedly threatened to harm the Basile Mayor.”
The family member informed the EPSO that on April 30, 2016 he and Guillory were involved in an altercation.
The press release stated that “the altercation led to Guillory arming himself with an AK47 Assault Riffle and threatening the family member.”
According to the release, “While armed with the rifle, Guillory discharged one round from the firearm.”
An affidavit and warrant of arrest was authored on Guillory for aggravated assault with a firearm, and the warrant was approved and signed by 13th Judicial District Judge Gary Ortego.
The EPSO press release states that “Guillory was safely apprehended at his residence of 1702 France Road without incident.”
The weapon involved in the incident was also confiscated and placed into evidence.
Guillory is being at the EPSO jail without bond as he awaits transfer to a facility for treatment.
